Plant Chef Beet Burger

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 20th of February 2023 The Plant Chef Beet Burger was actually very good!  It didn't seem to taste much of beetroot though; nonetheless, it had a great texture and was chewable like meat.  Plant Chef is a home brand from Tesco, a supermarket in the UK.  The burger is vegan, but unfortunately is packaged in plastic.

Spicy Chickpea Burgers

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 6th of February 2023 What better way to start Feburgerary than with a chickpea burger?  This is a great burger that is a bit like bubble and squeak if you know what that is.  The crispy coating is delicious and has a soft, tasty centre with a spicy edge.  This burger is particularly good if you are not into the texture of meat substitutes.

Free VFC’s Vegan Chicken product!

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Updated 5th of November 2022 After seeing Vegan Fried Chick*n (VFC) on social media and hearing I could get it for free in their promotion, I decided to give it a go.  In short, I am glad that I did! What a burger!  I really fancied a burger over the other two products Chick*n Bites and Popcorn Chick*n, so of to the supermarket I went.  The offer only included a few shops Sainsbury's, Tesco, Vegan Kind and Mighty Plants, so I chose Tesco because it was the only one I could get to on my bike.  On getting home, I prepared the burger and filled out the form for the refund.  Guess what the burger was like?

Garden Gourmet Sensational Burger

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 28th of February 2022 This is a truly magnificent vegan burger! The way it cooked was great, and it even had what looked like blood coming out of it if you like that kind of thing.  Tasted great and was like meat.  I had it with chips, onion rings, salad and made some bang bang sauce to go with it.  Some vegan burgers have that vegan burger taste, but this burger didn't.  It reminded me of the plant chef burgers a little.  In addition, I found it juicy and succulent and can't wait to have another one.  I hope that you liked this blog and if you do try this recipe, please let me know how you got on and what it turned out like. Vegan Bacon Cheese Burger

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 21st of February 2022 Why should any vegan miss out?  Well, we don't.  This is an amazing burger that will have you wanting more!  Tofu may not sound exciting, but when prepared correctly, which takes minimal effort, it happens to taste very meaty when fried.  You can make these burgers as big or as small as you like, or even double them up.

Plant Pioneers Smoky Jack quarter pounders.

Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 24th of February/ Februarius 2022  Continuing with Feburgerary, this is a vegan burger from Sainsbury's.  I fried it in a pan in accordance with the instructions for 4 minutes each side, and it turned out fantastic!  I thought that it had a great smoky taste and had a very meaty texture and flavour.   I will be having this again and would even go as far as to say that I liked it more than the Beyond Meat Burgers.     I hope that you liked this blog and if you do try this burger, please let me know how you got on and what it turned out like. McPlant from McDonald's

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 3rd of February 2022 Since this is the month for burgers, it makes sense to check out McDonald's Mc Plant.  This, obviously, required going to a McDonald's restaurant.  With this in mind, I sneaked out to the local McDonald's, that is new incidently, and ordered myself a Mc Plant!  I know what a rebel!  Anyhow, the review.  Well, I have to say it was fantastic!  It tasted like any other burger.  The burger itself is a Beyond Meat burger and was tasty as in like meat and was juicy too.  The one thing I didn't like was the size: it was too small!  Would I have this again? Yes, I would because it was just like a meat burger, which in the past was something that would cause me to fail.  However, if you don't like the texture of meat, you might find this too realistic.    The cost was about £6 with the fries and drink. Hope you enjoyed this blog.

Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 1st of February 2022       Like many other supermarkets, Aldi has its own brand exclusive to its stores called Plant Menu.  Plant menu have a range of vegan and vegetarian foods, but I will be writing about their Spicy No Chicken Burgers.

Beyond Burger Review

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 10th of September 2021  Last time I tried this burger it was a frozen one.  This time i tried the fresh one, but was it worth the price?  I must be honest, the only reason I tried it at all is because it was going for less than half price.  I resent paying so much for a vegan burger because it makes me feel exploited  by some company instead of valued.  Anyway, I can add that to the negatives at the end, but know this: it is not all bad.    Does it taste like a meat burger? Yes, It tastes like a meat burger.  I loved the way it smells when cooking and I liked the way it cooked too.  I had it in a bun with some tomato, mustard, BBQ sauce, onion and chilli and I could still taste a really great burger through all that flavour.  Obviously, I tried some without the sauce and pickles and it was still great tasting.   What is the issue with the burger? The issue is not the burger because the burger is fantastic!  No, the issue is the price and the fact it c

Vegan Rodeo Burger

Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 8th of February 2021    When you just need a burger, but want to keep it vegan, this is a classic that never fails. Easy to whip up and so tasty! Yes I love this burger because it's a proper man's burger with lashings of spicy BBQ sauce.  What to do A vegan roll Your favourite vegan burger (I like plant Chef)   Vegan onion rings (i used free from) Vegan mayo French brown mustard Jalapeno peppers  Vegan cheese Cook the burger in you favourite way, which for me is in the frying pan. I also like the fry the roll for a bit too.  I find it is a good idea to add the vegan cheese to the top of the burger once it is almost ready and still in the pan so the vegan cheese melts nice. Bake the onion rings in the oven with your favourite chips.  I like to spread the French mustard on the bottom part of the roll and put the BBQ sauce and vegan mayo on the top part of the roll.  Put everything in the roll and serve with chip and some salad. Banana Peel And Black Bean Burger

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 28th of December 2020 Yes, we do actually use banana peel in this dish! It may surprise you to know that banana peel can be used in many different dishes, but today I am going to show you how to use banana peel to make a burger.  Before I get started I should mention that in no way will the end product taste like banana provided  you prepare the banana peel correctly.  Neither are the ends used.

Best Vegan Burger

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Updated 17th of July 2020 Ever since i began to eat vegan food, i have looked out for a great vegan burger.  This is my verdict on the vegan burgers i have tried. Beyond Meat This was not that bad.  I heard a lot about this on social media and decided to give it a go.  It has a great taste, but the fresh ones are diffidently better than the frozen ones. No Bull This I didn’t like at all.  Although it has a great advertising campaign, i was not impressed with it.  I found it to be soft and squidgy with next to no taste at all!  I found this burger in Iceland. Linda McCartney This was my favourite brand for years.  If i was going to have a burger, it would be either the vegetarian one with the mozzarella cheese or vegan burger.  I found these burgers to have good firmness and great flavour.  However, I was not that impressed with the pulled pork ones at first, but once i go better at cooking them, i changed my mind.  I learnt not to cover the burger when it was in t
