After seeing Vegan Fried Chick*n (VFC) on social media and hearing I could get it for free in their promotion, I decided to give it a go.  In short, I am glad that I did! What a burger!  I really fancied a burger over the other two products Chick*n Bites and Popcorn Chick*n, so of to the supermarket I went.  The offer only included a few shops Sainsbury's, Tesco, Vegan Kind and Mighty Plants, so I chose Tesco because it was the only one I could get to on my bike.  On getting home, I prepared the burger and filled out the form for the refund.  Guess what the burger was like?

Free trial

Yes, you can get a free VFC product and the offer is open until the 22nd of October 2022.  The offer include Chick*n Fillets, Chick*n Bites and Popcorn Chick*n.

My first impression was it is a bit small; nonetheless, the filets are chunky.  The coating on the outside looked good, which made me look forward to the trial.

What did it taste like?

I had mine with lettuce, tomato and vegan mayonnaise in a vegan ciabatta roll with chips and salad.  I was not sure what to expect with the first bite, but oh my word was it good!  The crispy coating on the outside was everything I had hoped and the vegan chicken meat was outstanding!  From the very first bite, I could taste something that was chickeny with a hint of pepper.  The texture of the mock meat even resembled chicken and I had to remind myself it was actually vegan!  It even looked like chicken.  Needless to say, I liked it, but it made me feel ashamed because it was so much like chicken.

I have tried this burger again, but this time I added This isn't Bacon and a slice of Cathedral City vegan alternative to cheese.  It was fantastic!
