Vegan Yorkshire Puddings
Written by McDonald, T. | Updated 24th of March 2024
Yorkshire puddings are a tasty part of Sunday dinner in the UK not to mention Christmas and Easter. With this in mind, a vegan alternative is required to satisfy the patriots dinner plate. I looked for a long time and tried many different recipes, but in the end I had to alter the best basic vegan recipe to make it perfect.
Makes 4 puddings
Ingredients
- Self-raising flour x 55g
- Vegan milk alternative x 50ml
- Warm water x 50ml
- 1/4 tsp of baking powder
- Nooch x pinch (optional)
- Salt x pinch
Method
Sift the flour.
Add the vegan milk and water.
Mix with a balloon whisk.
Whisk for a few minutes.
Leave in the fridge of at least 1/2 an hour to settle.
Whisk again for a few minutes.
Heat oil in a Yorkshire tin or big round tin.
Place in the centre of the oven at 200 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes or until risen and golden brown. Note, removing them to early will result in a stodgy inside.
Results
Although they are not exactly like the traditional Yorkshire, these are brilliant! They have a great crispy outside and a soft tasty inside.
I really hope that you liked this recipe and decide to try it out. If you do, please let me know how you got on with it in the comments bellow. Please like, share and subscribe.
