Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 27th of March 2023        Who is Jacob?  Why is his stew so important? The story comes from the Old Testament Book of Genesis.  Jacob and Esau were brothers, the sons of Isaac and Rebecca.  According to the story in Genesis 25, Esau is so hungry that he trades his birth right for a bowl of stew!  While the beans and lentils fill the stew with textures and nutrition, the flavours come from the seasoning and spices.

By McDonald, T.   |  Date 24th of January 2021  There are two trees in the story of Adam and Eve in the book of Genesis, but what is the difference?  Why does God not want Adam or Eve to eat from either of these trees?   The tree of knowledge of both good and evil This is the tree in the midst of the Garden.  In verse 16 and 17 of chapter 2, God says:   And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die."   God then creates woman from a rib of Adam.  Then the following happens at the beginning of chapter 3, Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made.
