Vegan Steak And Kidney Bean Pie

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 13th of January 2021 This is from Fry Bentos!  The name springs rise to anticipation of a fantastic feast in a pie.  Although the pastry is vegan it does not differ from their non vegan pies in tastes and texture.  The filling is fine with a rich tasty gravy and mock meat bits.   Nutrition Broccoli is packed with nutrition! First, what is broccoli? Broccoli is from the cabbage family and is thought to have cancer busting properties.  The cabbage family on the whole is seen as a great food for health and is even mentioned by the Romans.  Broccoli is good at flushing out benzine rings, which are linked to cancer. Broccoli sprouts seem to be the best for removing benzine rings, but I like to eat broccoli and cabbage most days.  100 grams of broccoli contains vitamins A, C and K.  Mainly C and K vitamins and is a good source of roughage.

Jacket Potato With Salsa And Avocado

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 12th of January 2021  When many of us think of winter, we think of stews and jacket potatoes.  When it comes to jackets, the subject of how to prepare them is hotly debated; however,  I like to prepare them in a simple way that leaves the skin easily edible.  Ingredients for the topping: Avocado Salsa A potato weighing about 320 g will take about 50 minutes on 200 degrees in a preheated oven.  I like to wrap them up in tin foil in order to keep the skin soft and easy to eat.  The inside will be soft and fluffy.  Once out of the oven, cut the potato open and give a squeeze to puff that potato up.  Add some vegan butter.  This is so easy.  Just add 2 tablespoons of Salsa to your jacket.  Now you have to decide if you want to mash the avocado or slice it.   You can serve this with salad or veg.  Please give a like, subscribe and share so others can find out about easy vegan meals.

Vegan Fry Up

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 9th of January 2021 Want an English fry up? Well this is just that, but with a twist! The sausages are Chorizo style and everything is vegan.  The sausages come from Wicked Kitchen and the facon (This is not bacon) comes from This.  Put these two products on a plate with some beans, fried mushrooms and tomato, and you have a breakfast that would make any meat eater jealous!   The sausages are great, spicy, tasty and have a meaty texture.  Although it says in order to get best results put under the grill, they fry up fine.  The facon is fabulous, but I wish they where a bit bigger.  Nonetheless, they taste great, but don't overcook them or they will taste yuk.  On the whole this is an easy breakfast and both filling and satisfying.  It is worth noting, the facon contains high levels of protein and is fortified with iron and B12.  In fact, this breakfast gave me 4mg of iron and 27g of protein!  This breakfast also delivers 13g of fibre.  So what is the draw

What To Put In A Vegan Sandwich?

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 3rd of January 2021 This is the age of the vegan, so answering the question about what to put in a sandwich is easier than ever.  There is a great selection of vegan mock meats and cheese alternatives to choose from.   Mock meats First up is Squeaky Bean, a top name for those deli counter slices for that hunger busting sandwich.  There are many types including: Pastrami. Roast Chicken Flavour. Chicken Kebab Style. Italian Ham Style. I have only one main test, which I call the cold and naked test.  This involves eating a slice cold and on its own and if it tastes OK, it passes the test.   With this in mind, how did the mock meats do?  Well, Squeaky Bean scored highly for me with all tasting great!  They make excellent sandwich fillings going magnificently with some vegan mayonnaise and some salad.   I must admit I enjoyed these a lot.  Squeaky Bean Italian Style Ham Squeaky Bean Pastrami Next up is Vegan Quorn another great brand.  You will need to be careful

Vegan Oral Hygiene

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 30th of December 2020 The world is an amazing creation that would be better if we stopped polluting it.  Veganism goes further than food and drink; it incudes the philosophy of not messing up the world for other animals too. This idea includes thinking about waste and recycling.  As a result,  plastic free shopping becomes an objective for a vegan were we look for products that don't damage the wild life and are easily recycled.  Personal care and grooming is essential and not exempt from the vegan philosophy.  With this in mind, what types of products are out there that an aspiring vegan can find?  Well it turns out they are lots to choose from.  I will examine, but a few of the amazing vegan bathroom goodies that are kind to animals and plastic free. Everything I tested came from Enviroli Toothpaste I tried toothpaste from Eco Living and was pleasantly surprised. It really is as simple as chewing the tab until it foams up and then brushing.  After brush
