Cain and Abel

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 14th of March 2021    Adam and Eve had three sons after being told to leave the garden of Eden: Cain, Abel and Seth. However, Seth is born latter in the story, yet still plays a significant roll.  This story may be brief, but it is so important to understanding the bigger picture.  Cain and Abel (Gen 4) Cain is the eldest of the three brothers followed by Abel and it is with these two brothers that the story starts.  While Abel is a keeper of sheep, his older brother Cain is growing vegetables.  As they get older, both give offerings to the Lord; Cain offers fruit from the ground and Abel the first fat portions from the first of his flock.  The story doesn't tell us why Cain's offering was refused or why Abel's was accepted, but it does say Cain was very angry at being rejected:  "...but for Cain and his offering he had no regard. So Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell." (Gen 4: 5) Before I g...

Vegan peppercorn sauce is amazingly tasty.  You diffinatly got to give this a try. Peppercorn sauce Why not try a sweet mustard sauce?  This is easy to make and favourite of mine.  Sweet...

Free From No Stake Bake: the verdict

Image
Written by  McDonald, T.    |  Date 11th of March 2021 There are plenty of vegan alternatives on the market to choose from whether you are making the transition or a hardened vegan veteran.  Maybe you have seen stuff in the shop and wondered how good they are.  This Sainsbury's Free From No Stake Bake was a gift from my Mum and i thought it was really good!  I had it with new potatoes, vegan and some vegan gravy with nutritional yeast with B12.  If you see this product, i highly recommend giving it a try.  The pastry was great and the filling was tasty.  I will be having this again.   If you are new to veganism and would like to find out more, please subscribe to my blog and maybe even look into the Vegan Society for heaps of useful information.

My Lenten Diary: Week 2

Image
Written by  McDonald, T.    |  Date 9th of March 2021 Lent is a time of fasting and repenting.  It is a time of simple clothing and simple foods.  Most will give more and pray more during the Lenten period.  As we get deeper into Lent, we deepen our faith in Jesus turning to Him more for comfort.  Although this is a sombre time of year, it can greatly increase our trust in God.   Attacks On The Christian Church Early this week, i have found it difficult to ignore the attacks on the Christian Church.  Mostly, it is an attempt to silence the Christian Church.  Many people have had their posts removed from different social media platforms or even been banned!  This Lent has been the hardest i have ever had.  I really do feel that we are under attack from foreign nations and pro-communists and i believe that Satan is ultimately behind it all. Something Feels Wrong Nothing feels right, so i try cleaning everything but it doesn...

Chilli Tempeh

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 8th of March 2021 (you need to make a date for this)     This vegan chilli is tasty and the tempeh gives it a lot of protein and calcium.  Tempeh is made from soya beans and can be purchased in most supermarkets and has the advantage of being ready to use unlike tofu, which needs pressing.  Yes, there is some preparing to do the night before, yet it is easy to make and very tasty.  For a bonus you can make it as hot as you like. Ingredients  Tempeh x 60 grams Chopped tomatoes x 150 grams Kidney beans x 30 grams Black beans x 10 grams Red lentils  x 20 grams Cabbage x 30 grams Chilli pepper x 1 small to medium Chilli powder x 1tsp Garlic paste x 1 tsp Tomato paste x 1tbsp Salt x a pitch Marinade  Cider vinegar 1 x tsp Olive oil x 1 tsp Soya sauce x 1 tsp Method Marinade the tempeh pieces overnight or for at least 2 hours.   Simply chop up all the ingredients and add everything to a saucepa...

The United Kingdom: A Nation At Hell's Gate

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 7th of February 2021     I share the good news with others, but people are not always happy to hear it. I am cut off from my remaining family and i fill that time is running out. My degree is useless it seems and i have no job. I trust in God, but i can't see an end to these troubles. I feel as if the immense worry i have been experiencing has just been put in a box and is rattling around inside it, but i don't feel cured of that worry. For that to happen, i would need to be closer to my remaining family and that means living within walking distance, working in a job that was pleasing to God either from home or in that same area and seeing them on a regular basis. In addition, I am worried about my family and their state of faith. It seems that almost everyone in London and indeed in the whole of England have lost their faith.  This has left the UK wide open to demonic attack in the shape of false religions and false proph...

Vegan Sauces For Your Steak Or Pasta

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 6th of March 2021  Whether you are having a fake steak or vegetable steak you may well want a sauce to go with it for that extra little bit of moister and taste.  Peppercorn Sauce Ingredients Cracked black peppercorns. 1/4 Red onion per person. Vegan milk alternative. Vegan double cream alternative.  Vegetable stock. Method. Sauté the chopped onion with the cracked peppercorn in a frying pan with some olive oil.   Blend in a blender with vegetable stock.  You are not going to need a lot of stock, so don't over do it you can always add in more if you need to. Add the resulting mixture, which should be like a paste, to a saucepan.   Heat and stir in the vegan milk and vegan cream with a whisk.  Add some plain white flower to thicken.  Add just a little at a time and keep stirring until you reach a satisfactory viscosity for the sauce.  Maple Syrup And Mustard Sauce Ingredients  Vegan M...

Baked Potato With Beans And Cheese

Image
Written by  McDonald, T.    |  Date 10th of March 2021 This is a great meal that is as easy as it is timeless.  Suma make great vegan sausages with beans in a can.   Baked beans and vegan sausages are high in roughage and protein.  Put this combination with some vegetables and sprinkle it with some nutritional yeast and you have a nutritious meal.  However, this dinner is low in vitamin A, so adding some carrot could be a good idea or have carrot with your lunch.

My Lenten Diary: Week 1

Image
Written by  McDonald, T.    |  Date 2nd of March 2021  I feel compelled to write something about my experience this Lent.  It has not been like any other Lent and i might struggle to explain.  For some reason i have found it difficult to fast as i usually would; nonetheless, i am getting to grips with it.  However, as we move deeper into lent i feel more and more lonely, which is an experience i seldom have.  Perhaps God wants me to experience loneliness so i can better relate to others who do feel lonely most days.   Throughout my live i have always had company even if i am on my own, i know family are never to far away and that, at least, they exist.  Now i feel alone because nearly all my family i grew up with have gone.  I have nothing, but Jesus.  Is this what it is like to have no one?  Could an orphan relate to my experience of loneliness? It must be tough to grow up with no family.  I can't imagine ...

Vegan Roast Gammon

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 1st of November 2021 (you need to make a date for this)    This is a great alternative to slices of meat.  The vegan joint was both chewable like meat and had a satisfying taste.  I have been looking forward to trying this for a while and was pleasantly surprised when this Sunday like roast aroma wafted in from the kitchen.  I had the roast with the usual selection of veg and gravy and found it to be extremely enjoyable.   The Gammon Roast comes from vBites and is vegan.  I got mine from here .  Why go vegan?  Being vegan is kind to the animals, helps the environment and saves on carbon emissions.  It takes a lot of land to grow the feed for cattle, which could be used to feed humans.  If you get a chance, please watch this video .   Hopefully, you can see that going vegan is a lot more fun and easier than you might have first though.  I hope that you share this blog and su...
