Grapok Sauce

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 19 of July 2021 This is a very tasty little dip that has been inspired by Star Trek.  It have a smoky BBQ flavour and is great for dipping tofu or vegan nuggets. A sauce ideal for Bregit lung . Ingredients BBQ sauce x 3 tbsp Cider vinegar x 2 tbsp Tomato paste x 1 tbsp Soy sauce x 1 tbsp Hot water x 50 ml Method Measure out all the ingredients into a small dipping sauce bowl and mix with a spoon.  Achieving the correct viscosity to the sauce is important because you do not want the sauce to run off the Bregit lung when it is dipped into it.  Neither do you want to think a sauce; you should be able to poor the sauce onto the food.  Aim for a thick gravy like viscosity but thinner than ketchup. I hope you decide to give this a try. If you do, please let me know how it turned out in the comments or on twitter.  Please like, share with your friends and subscribe.

You can add spinach or kale to the recipe to give it more nutrition if you want.  I hope you decide to give t

Zero Waste Vegan Sandwich

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Updated 6th of July 2021 This is a quick and easy lunch that is packed with goodness and it is zero waste.  Making your own bread can be time consuming and work intensive, but this flatbread is easy.  I was very surprised at the results and now make it all the time because it is simple.  The filling is equally as easy and so worth it.  The garlic really comes throw and the mustard gives it that stronger flavour. Ingredients Flatbread home-made or sweet potato flatbread Avocado  Red bell pepper Chilli pepper Garlic  Mustard Method Scrape out the avocado into a bowl and mash it. Chop up the chilli and garlic and add them to the mashed avocado. Mix in 1 or 2 tsp of mustard.  I use the mustard and horseradish, but any mustard will do.  Spread on the home made flatbread and add slices of bell pepper.  Fold the bread and eat.  You can, if you wish, sprinkle a little nutritional yeast with B12 over the filling or try the sweet potato flatbread .

Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 1st of July 2021       I have heard a lot about these ranging from yuck to very positive.  Being i am almost a scientist, i decided to test them out for myself. I fried them as stated in the instructions.  I then tried them naked, without anything, and in some flatbread with tomato and pepper, which made a really good sandwich. Zero Waste Shop

Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 25th of June 2021 Zero waste is the idea of having zero waste from businesses and households.  It is an ideal that we may never fully achieve and is more of a goal that we aim for.  For instance, some food packaging is unavoidable.  However, with new shops like Unwrapped form the prospect trust the problem of food packaging could be a thing of the past. Although some changes still need to be made to reach zero waste, this kind of forward thinking is taking us in the right direction. Unwrapped is about 3 - 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral in Ely, England heading towards the Police Station and is situated near the lighthouse community centre. What was on sale? Lentils, beans, pasta and other food items as well as toiletries and cleaning products.  I saw non vegan food, which was a little disappointing and not all the products where zero waste.  Nonetheless, they did have dispensers  for the pasta, beans and lentils, see figure 1,2 and 3.  Figure 1, di
