Vegan Gado Gado

The blend of flavours is superb and it is easy to make.  Green beans, carrots and bell pepper form the main ingredients while the sultanas give it that extra something. In addition, the dish is accompanied with a tasty peanut butter sauce.  With this dish you can't go wrong.  There are many variations of Gado Gado and this is mine. 100% vegan. Serves 1 (times ingredients by how many people you are cooking for) Ready in 30 minutes Ingredients 1/2 red bell pepper 1/2 a handful of green beans 1/2 a red onion 2 gloves of garlic 1 heaped tablespoon of sultanas 1 medium carrot 1/2 a medium sized chilli pepper 1 tablespoon of tomato puree 1 tablespoon of tomato relish  1/2 a tsp of garlic granules  1/2 a tsp of soya source  20 g of Quorn pieces 1/2 of hot water 1/4 (60 ml) cup of basmati rice Peanut butter source 2 tablespoons of

High Mountain Soup

By McDonald, T. | Date 12th of July 2020.  This is a light meal that has a nice heat to it because of  the chilli powder.  The inspiration for this dish comes from the story of Jesus going up a high mountain with three of his disciples, Peter, James and John. Once at the top, Jesus is transformed and is seen conversing with Elijah and Moses. 100% vegan. Serves One Ready in 10 minutes Ingredients 1/4 cup of garden peas (frozen is fine) 1/4 cup of sweetcorn  (The peas and the sweetcorn represent the men an women of  of the world) 3 small florets of broccoli  (Represent Peter, James and John) 3 pieces of spaghetti pasta 1 x tsp of tomato puree. Black pepper to taste  150ml of vegetable stock 1/2 tsp of paprika 1/4 tsp of turmeric 1/4 tsp of chilli powder (mild if you want it hotter, make it 1/2 tsp) 1/2 tsp of Garlic granules 1 tsp of soya source 1/2 tsp of balsamic vinegar 4 pitted olives. Vegan Jambalaya

By McDonald, T. | Date 29th of June 2020 This is another easy to make meal that is quick to prepare.  Very light and colourful and 100% vegan. Ingredients Basmati rice 1/2 a red bell pepper Kidney beans 3 cloves of garlic Cabbage Peas Sultanas Vegetable stock Paprika Cayenne chilli pepper 1/2 tsp of turmeric 2 tsp of soy source 1 tsp of tomato puree  Spring onion  Apparatus 2 Suitable sized source pans Sharp knife Wooden spoon Chopping board Measuring jug Method Rinse the rice two or three times and drain. Boil the rice in a source pan until soft. While the rice is heating in a source pan, chop the cabbage and bell pepper into bite size pieces and add to the other source pan. Add the peas, kidney beans and sultanas and poor on the stock. Add the turmeric, cayenne pepper, paprika, soy source, tomato, puree then give it a good stir. Mince and add the garlic. When the rice is ready, add it to the source and stir. Let it simmer for a minute

Carpenter’s Soup

By McDonald, T.   |  Date 29th of June 2020 This meal is very quick and easy to prepare, yet still packs a lot of flavour.  Humble and light meal that is great with some sourdough.  100% vegan.  It is worth noting, although very rare, some backers use milk to make the sourdough instead of water making the sourdough not vegan.   Ingredients Broccoli Green Lentils 1/3 of a can Cabbage A tomato Horseradish source Veggie stock cube 1/2 tsp of tarmac 1/2 tsp of paprika Apparatus Suitable sized source pan Sharp knife Wooden spoon Chopping board Measuring jug Method Chop the broccoli, cabbage and tomato into bit size pieces and put them in the saucepan. Add the green lentils. Make the stock in the measuring jug with the tarmac and paprika. Poor in the stoke and bring to the boil.   As soon as it starts to boil, reduce the heat to a simmer. The goji berries represent the blood of Christ while the fruit and nuts represent the fruits of the Holy Spirit and the oats represent God the Father.  100% vegan.   

4 Great Novena Meals.

Novena means nine days. During the nine days there is praying and sometimes fasting, which means giving something up. Many chose to give up food such as swapping out breakfast and dinner for prayer and closeness to God. Latin fried potato salad with avocado and fried sourdough.

By McDonald, T.   |  Date 28th of June 2020 If you are looking for a light easy to prepare comfort food that is meat free, this is for you.  This dish is colourful, tasty and needn't be expensive.  To make this tasty dish vegan, swap the butter for a vegan alternative.   Serves 1 Ingredients Cherry tomatoes 1 Small carrot sliced longways 2 New potatoes 1/2 Red bell pepper 1/2 Avocado Spring Onions Slice of sourdough Butter/vegan butter Apparatus Small saucepan Large frying pan with lid Sharp knife Spatula Method Clean and cut the potatoes in half.   Boil in the saucepan until soft enough to push a fork though easily.   Drain potatoes and leave to dry and cool.   Cut the carrots into strips, cut the red pepper into bit size pieces and cut the cherry tomatoes in half.    Spray some olive oil in the frying pan, add the potato halves and carrot strips.   Cover with lid.   Cook on a low to medium heat, turning occasionally until potatoes start to turn g

Church Services Go Online

Since the lockdown, churches have long last had to think outside of the box when it comes to reaching people.   Many churches had no option but to live stream and post content online, which has been great for many of us that can’t get to church in the first place.   Here are some of the best services, churches, preachers and priests I could find.   St Mary’s parish in Ottawa (Catholic) Holy Mass @St. Mary's(May 14, 2020) This was one of the best services I have ever witnessed!   The singing was beautiful, I really liked the strong evangelical message and I agree with the comment that broadcasting services should be the norm.   You must ask yourself, 'Do I want to reach as many people as possible.' If the answer is yes, then posting to the internet is the way to go. I am very excited after attending mass at this church.   I liked this so much that I have been to mass everyday this week. Something in life is wrong.  The fictional character Morpheus from the movie The Matrix (1999) explains: ‘ …there is something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it is there like a splinter in your mind… ’ So, what is it that is troubling people so much that it comes out in modern media and common sayings?  To answer that question, we must first look at what we are.
