Plastic Free Vegan Deodorants

Here is a short list of some interesting deodorants that are cruelty-free and vegan.  Although these products are not gender-specific, you might like to know that i am a man and do a lot of manual activities that obviously make me sweat a lot.  All were good, but some were fantastic!

Rugged Nature 

I found this to be a great travel companion because it is small, light and doesn't leak if it gets hot and melts.  Most importantly, it does the job.  It got a great test this Easter weekend when I had to cycle miles and go on two trains in the hot weather.  It also held out great after walking to Church and back.  Not once did it let me down.  Furthermore, it lasted all day and was easy to put on with no marks on my clothes and no irritation to my skin.  In short, I loved it.


Earth Conscious 

Another easy to use stick that works fine.  I found this to leave some marks on clothes, but these marks washed out OK.  It did the job and lasted longer than I thought it would and was kind to my skin.  In addition, it comes in a cardboard tube with lid, so it is easy to recycle.


Wild 

From Sainsbury's.  Comes in an aluminium dispenser and takes refills.  I really like this one.  It has many different scents and works really well.  Furthermore, It goes on easy and lasts all day.  Probably the best price too.  Has become my regular.

Ku.tis

Large range of scents.  I have tried many of ku.tis scents and I like them all.  Has a cardboard container and is easy to apply.  It works very well 

No Bo Bar 

This lasted for ages!  However, if I used too much of it, I would find makes on my clothes.  On the whole it was petty good and kept me reasonable fresh all day even after cycling for miles.

Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 11th of December 2023   This is something I have heard of, but never tried before.  Usually, we have traditional Christmas cake in my house, but last year I wanted to try something different and this was it.  Rest assured, I will be having it again this year too! At first, it seems like a lot of effort, but you will soon see that it is straight forward to make and definitely worth it.  However, it will need proofing and the dried fruit will need soaking, which will all take time, so plan ahead.  Notes I used French Brandy Marzipan and so used brandy to flavour the raisins and cranberries. I used almond milk. A good tip is to dust the soaked fruit with a little flour before adding the dough. You have 3 options with the marzipan:  Roll it out  Chop it up Have a thick bar of it running through the centre I soaked the dried fruit in brandy, but you can make it without the alcohol is you wish or use rum instead. Rum And Raisin Loaf

Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 27th of November 2023   Whatever the occasions, this is a great treat to be had.  The rum soaks into the raisins and results in a perfect infusion of flavours. The rum adds flavour to the raisins while the raisins add sweetness to the run.  This beautiful bread as a great bready texture, yet is fruity and warming to the soul. Although it doesn't need it, you can choose to dust it with icing sugar.
