Stewed Mushrooms, peppers and Onion

A very easy meal with little effort in a beautiful rich dark gravy. This is one of my favourites that I like to have with rice. I like it because it is so easy to make and so quick, yet it has a great flavour and goes so well with most rice dishes. I find pineapple fried rice to be a great companion to this tasty dish.
Notes
- How to make the stewing sauce.
- Low heat for a long time works best for this dish because it gives the flavour a chance to combine.
Serves 3
Time – 1hr
Ingredients
- Mushrooms
- Bell peppers
- Onion
- Stewing sauce
- White pepper x 1/2 tsp
Method
- Make the stewing sauce.
- Cut the peppers, mushrooms, and onion into bit sized chunks and add to the pot.
- Add the white pepper.
- Heat until it starts to boil and turn down to a simmer. Allow to stew on the hob for about an hour stirring occasionally.
Ready to stew. |
Results
I usually have this with rice.
