Vegan Coleslaw

Creamy delicious vegan coleslaw is easy to prepare. You can make your own vegan mayonnaise or buy some from the supermarket.  Whatever you choose to do, it is ready in minutes. However, it will save on the plastic if you make your own.  With this in mind, if you opt to buy the mayonnaise instead of making your own, go for something in a glass jar rather than a plastic bottle.  Furthermore, shred the carrot yourself rather than buying already shredded carrot in a plastic bag.

4 servings


  • Cabbage x 240 grams 
  • Carrot x 70 grams
  • Red Onion x 50 grams
  • Cider vinegar x 1 tbsp
  • Sugar x 1 tbsp
  • Vegan mayonnaise x 1/2 cup
  • Vegan double cream x 2 tbsp
  • White pepper x pinch 


  1. Shred the cabbage, carrot and red onion.
  2. Mix in a bowl.
  3. Add the other ingredients and mix with a folk. 
  4. Cover and leave in a fridge overnight.

You can, if you want, add some sultanas to it.
