Homemade Salsa

This is a quick and tasty dip that is great as an accompaniment too. You can make it as hot as you like and leave out any ingredients that upset your stomach. I tend to leave out onion and garlic because they can cause the IBS to flair up. Still, with this recipe, I don't miss out.
Ingredients
- Tinned tomatoes x 200 g
- Tomato paste x 4 tbsp
- Balsamic vinegar x 1 tbsp
- Chilli powder x 1/2 tsp
- Ground cumin x 1/8 tsp
- Ground paprika x 1/2 tsp
- Ground black pepper x 1/8 tsp
- Jalapeño peppers, pickled x 2 tbsp
- Lime our lemon juice x 2 tsp
Method
- Using a hand blender, blend the tinned tomatoes until smooth in a bowl.
- Add the tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, spices, pickled jalapeño peppers, and pepper to a saucepan and add the tinned tomatoes you just blended.
- Heat on a low to medium heat for 10 minutes. Don't let it boil. Stir regularly.
- Allow to cool and poor into a suitable jar.
I hope you liked this blog! I would love to hear from you; especially if you tried this recipe out. Have a great day!
