The United Kingdom: A Nation At Hell's Gate

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 7th of February 2021     I share the good news with others, but people are not always happy to hear it. I am cut off from my remaining family and i fill that time is running out. My degree is useless it seems and i have no job. I trust in God, but i can't see an end to these troubles. I feel as if the immense worry i have been experiencing has just been put in a box and is rattling around inside it, but i don't feel cured of that worry. For that to happen, i would need to be closer to my remaining family and that means living within walking distance, working in a job that was pleasing to God either from home or in that same area and seeing them on a regular basis. In addition, I am worried about my family and their state of faith. It seems that almost everyone in London and indeed in the whole of England have lost their faith.  This has left the UK wide open to demonic attack in the shape of false religions and false prophets.  Taking The Word

My Lenten Diary: Week 1

Image
Written by  McDonald, T.    |  Date 2nd of March 2021  I feel compelled to write something about my experience this Lent.  It has not been like any other Lent and i might struggle to explain.  For some reason i have found it difficult to fast as i usually would; nonetheless, i am getting to grips with it.  However, as we move deeper into lent i feel more and more lonely, which is an experience i seldom have.  Perhaps God wants me to experience loneliness so i can better relate to others who do feel lonely most days.   Throughout my live i have always had company even if i am on my own, i know family are never to far away and that, at least, they exist.  Now i feel alone because nearly all my family i grew up with have gone.  I have nothing, but Jesus.  Is this what it is like to have no one?  Could an orphan relate to my experience of loneliness? It must be tough to grow up with no family.  I can't imagine what that would feel like.  I do, however, wonder what an orphans prayers m

Meals for Lent

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 24th of February 2021    Lent is a period of fasting and repentance.  Sometimes people give up something that they like as an offering to God and in order to spend more time with God in prayer.  For most of us, the fast means one meal with two small snacks that wouldn't make a meal if added together. Meal ideas for Lent Since the idea is to keep meals simple, i have stuck with how my Nan taught me, which is no eggs or dairy throughout the duration of Lent.  For us vegans, this means no egg or dairy alternatives and no mock meats on Wednesday and Friday.  However, many will just stick to eating less and giving up something. Latin Fried Potato Salad This is one of my favourite meals.  Full of flavour goodness and taste.  This is a light meal that will keep you going through the day. Caramelised Apple And Tempeh Basic dish that you can add to with veg and potato or even pasta if you need.  A very light meal for lent that has good levels of protein

Why I Fast Every Wednesday And Friday

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Updated 18th of February 2021    Fasting has always been apart of Christian and Jewish life.  Jesus said that people would fast when He was not with us in body and we do.   I eat only bread on Wednesday and Friday every week.  I have done this for nearly a year now after i saw a video on YouTube by a Nun called  Sister Emmanuel Maillard .   The guidelines to the fast are as follows: Eat bread only Drink water only No fasting on feast days or if you are ill No genuine medical reason for not fasting Must be of fasting age 18 to 59 I can eat as much bread as i need and drink as much water as i need.  I must admit the just sticking to water is difficult and so sometimes i will have a cup of tea, but i always stick to just having bread although sometimes i will eat more of it than others. When i say just bread, i mean just bread and no butter or spread. Why fast? Spending quality time with God brings peace to our hearts and the world Inviting the Holy Spirit in

Are You Impulsive?

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Updated 8th of February 2021    Many people allow their subconscious to bully them around, making demands and expecting those demands to be met immediately.  It will fill the mind with sensations and images in order to manipulate the conscious mind into action.  If we allow the body to control the mind and be at the whim of the body, we are said to be impulsive. The body only knows it has needs. Sometimes it's useful for a person to respond to instincts say when reflex reactions save a person from harm.  However, we hear all the time about impulse buying and eating on impulse and they are never linked to anything positive.  People get into debt and lose control of their weight.  It can get worse if people give into other temptations leading to wrecked marriages or relationships and even addictions.  The Body Wants Gratification Without Thinking Of Consequences With this in mind, and if we continue with the mind and body as two separate entities analogy, the mi

Why the West is Unhappy?

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 12th of December 2020 Growing up I would often hear things like, 'Cleanliness is next to Godliness.'  This has deeper meaning than it first seems.  We can clean the house, tidy the rooms and we can rearrange things in a more organised way, but what about inside our hearts and minds? Cleaning the mind and house First, lets look at how we clean our homes.  We declutter areas, getting rid of all the things we don't need.  We tidy the shelves, we tidy the cupboards, we clean the cupboards under the stairs, but what about the cupboards and shelves in our minds?  What about all the stuff we have shelved for later because we can't deal with it now? What about the broken relationships that we leave to fester in the back of our minds?  If it was something in the house we would aim to fix it right away, but if it is a broken relationship we don't?  Could this be that we don't know what to do?  If you had a broken sink in the house and you didn&#

Best Vegan Websites

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 2nd of November 2020 If you are looking for that special present for someone or even just yourself, take a look at these sites. All the sites in the blog have vegan and plastic free products and some even sell some food. All sites, however, are mainly about the bathroom and kitchen.  Although each site is similar and provides similar products and brand names, all are a little different.  All sites do gift packs and have a good selection of men's toiletries. Being vegan and going plastic free has never been so easy. Enviroli   What does it sell? Eco-friendly and plastic free products. Sells a reasonable range of goods for a new or experienced vegan form a range of different brands. Vegan toiletries. Bathroom stuff.  Kitchen stuff. Home Baby things. Pets stuff.  This is perhaps my favourite in that I have used it many times and it has my washing detergent which is TruEarth.  I found great gifts for people at this site. Animal Aid    What does it sell? Anima

3 Jewish Festivals Christians Should Know About

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 14th of October 2020 The Jewish calendar is full of festivals with each of them full of meaning. However, there are three festivals that should be of interest to all Christians. The feast of Passover (Pesach) The feast of Weeks (Also called Pentecost or Shavuot) The feast of Booths (Sukkot or Feast of Tabernacles)  These festivals are the three harvest feasts for spring, summer and autumn. Why do Christians need to know about them? These are the three major festivals at the time of Jesus and are called the pilgrimage festivals: shalosh regalim. People from the Jewish faith would head to Jerusalem to celebrate these festivals. Moreover, these festivals also represent major events in the Bible for the Israelites all relating to Exodus. God explains how to celebrate them in Exodus 12 13, Leviticus 23 and Deuteronomy 16. The feast of Passover (Pesach) First, I will explain the festival and the story in brief. This is an eight day (seven days if you are in the H

How To Pray The Rosary

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Updated  5th of August 2021 You may of heard of the rosary beads, but did you know there are actually 4 sets of rosaries? Each set is said on different days; however, you can say all of them on the same day if you want to. Each rosary has five decades with the day's mysteries being announced at the beginning of the Rosary.   Each mystery is announced at the beginning of each decade.  You can get single decade, five decade fifteen decade and 20 decade rosaries.   Pocket Rosary - Single decade with The Divine Mercy Preparation before saying the rosary Some people might like to compose themself before praying while other will leap straight in!  I find it is a good idea to think about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit before I start.  Let the mind relax and then start praying. The 4 Rosaries Glorious Mysteries (Sunday and Wednesday) Joyful Mysteries (Monday and Saturday) Luminous Mysteries (Thursday) Sorrowful Mysteries (Tuesday and Friday) Start by mak

Why Complain?

Image
By McDonald, T. | Date 10th of August 2020   Have you been complaining a lot? Have you heard others complaining?  Have you ever wondered why people might complain?  If people feel they are not resected, they will complain. However, it goes deeper than that. People who are afraid will find something to complain about if they have no legitimate reason to complain; however, sometimes people need to complain.   For instance, many of us will say something about the way that people are dressing in Church and we have a legitimate reason for doing this. We are afraid that people are not listening to God and that the West is descending into anarchy. Both men and women are showing a lot of flesh in the House of God, which indicates a lack of understanding. Notably, marriage is almost a thing of the past even among Christians. People have so many different partners in their lives they have stopped seeing the point of getting married.  Sometimes people are afraid but don't know how
