Plant Pioneers Smoky Jack quarter pounders.

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 24th of February/ Februarius 2022  Continuing with Feburgerary, this is a vegan burger from Sainsbury's.  I fried it in a pan in accordance with the instructions for 4 minutes each side, and it turned out fantastic!  I thought that it had a great smoky taste and had a very meaty texture and flavour.   I will be having this again and would even go as far as to say that I liked it more than the Beyond Meat Burgers.     I hope that you liked this blog and if you do try this burger, please let me know how you got on and what it turned out like. You can leave a comment in the comments below.

McPlant from McDonald's

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 3rd of February 2022 Since this is the month for burgers, it makes sense to check out McDonald's Mc Plant.  This, obviously, required going to a McDonald's restaurant.  With this in mind, I sneaked out to the local McDonald's, that is new incidently, and ordered myself a Mc Plant!  I know what a rebel!  Anyhow, the review.  Well, I have to say it was fantastic!  It tasted like any other burger.  The burger itself is a Beyond Meat burger and was tasty as in like meat and was juicy too.  The one thing I didn't like was the size: it was too small!  Would I have this again? Yes, I would because it was just like a meat burger, which in the past was something that would cause me to fail.  However, if you don't like the texture of meat, you might find this too realistic.    The cost was about £6 with the fries and drink. Hope you enjoyed this blog.

Vegan Sunday Roast

Image
By McDonald, T.   |  Date 28th of Jan 2022 No Sunday in the UK is complete without a roast dinner.  This is a vegan roast that is simple and bursting with flavour.  For more roughage, keep the skins on because you don't really want to throw away all that goodness.   Amazingly, the sweet potato gives huge amounts of nutrition including a massive dose of vitamin A and some protein while the kale provides a great dose of vitamin K and the cabbage has vitamin C.  These vitamins are needed by the body for numerous functions, such as seeing in dim light and keeping the immune system healthy.  In addition, the kale provides some calcium, which good for bones and teeth.

Aubergine Parmigiana

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 26th of January 2022 If you never heard of parmigiana, it is a bit like an Italian Moussaka. It has layers of aubergine, mushrooms and onion and topped with a tomato sauce and cheese. The name parmigiana suggests using Parmesan cheese, but since we are vegan, any vegan cheese will be fine.  This is a lovely dish for winter or autumn that is not heavy at all, so it goes great with potatoes.
