Original Vegan Lasagna

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Updated 22nd of March 2022 There are two different types of vegan lasagna: one with lentils and one with chunky vegetables.  This recipe is for the one with lentils.  If you liked the meat lasagna, this might be that substitute you have been dreaming of finding.

Vegan Soda Bread

Written by McDonald, T.   |  Updated 21st of August 2023. Why not try this traditional Irish bread for St Patrick's Day? Soda bread gets its name from the bicarbonate of soda, which is used instead of yeast. This bread is great on its own, with some jam or just with some butter. St Patrick's Day is on the 17th of March this year (2022).

I Tried Meatless Farm Chicken Breasts

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 11th of March 2022 I had heard a lot about these on social media and decided to try them.  The thing that put me off for a long time is the plastic packaging.  Nonetheless, I gave them a try and found them to be great.  No funny aftertaste and they had a meatiness to them.  The texture was meaty too and it did feel like I was cutting into a chicken breast.  This would be great for Sunday dinner, midweek or even something more fancy such as Hunter's Chicken.  In fact, anything that you can think of that would use a chicken breast this would be fine for. What a fantastic chicken substitute!  I hope that you liked this blog and if you do try this product, please let me know how you got on and what it turned out like. Vegan Goan Curry

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 7th of March 2022  Goan curry is usually made with fish, but we don't want that do we: no.  As a vegan you have options for a substitute, you can either use a fish substitute or go all veg.  In this recipe, I decided to use tofu and a stack of veg, but you can use whatever option you like including banana blossom.  This is a mild curry, but can easily be heated up.

Spicy Roasted Red Pepper Soup

Garden Gourmet Sensational Burger

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 28th of February 2022 This is a truly magnificent vegan burger! The way it cooked was great, and it even had what looked like blood coming out of it if you like that kind of thing.  Tasted great and was like meat.  I had it with chips, onion rings, salad and made some bang bang sauce to go with it.  Some vegan burgers have that vegan burger taste, but this burger didn't.  It reminded me of the plant chef burgers a little.  In addition, I found it juicy and succulent and can't wait to have another one.  I hope that you liked this blog and if you do try this recipe, please let me know how you got on and what it turned out like. Vegan Bacon Cheese Burger

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 21st of February 2022 Why should any vegan miss out?  Well, we don't.  This is an amazing burger that will have you wanting more!  Tofu may not sound exciting, but when prepared correctly, which takes minimal effort, it happens to taste very meaty when fried.  You can make these burgers as big or as small as you like, or even double them up.

Plant Pioneers Smoky Jack quarter pounders.

Image
Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 24th of February/ Februarius 2022  Continuing with Feburgerary, this is a vegan burger from Sainsbury's.  I fried it in a pan in accordance with the instructions for 4 minutes each side, and it turned out fantastic!  I thought that it had a great smoky taste and had a very meaty texture and flavour.   I will be having this again and would even go as far as to say that I liked it more than the Beyond Meat Burgers.     I hope that you liked this blog and if you do try this burger, please let me know how you got on and what it turned out like. Written by McDonald, T.   |  Date 11th of March 2022 You have never made a burrito before and want to know how to wrap it up good.  Well it is one of those things that when you see how it is done you will think how obvious.  Not obvious till you know how though is it.
